We are looking for a Cook to join the team at Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, a newly refurbished 26-bed specialist unit within Ashlea Court Care Home. Part of Willinbrook Healthcare, the specialist division of Care Concern Group, Oaklea provides high-quality, person-centred care for residents living with complex physical and mental health needs, including dementia. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a brand-new team where your cooking will bring comfort, joy, and dignity to residents every day.

What We Offer

• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full-time contract)

What You Will Do
As Cook, you will prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences, ensuring all meals comply with IDDSI standards for those with swallowing difficulties. You will develop seasonal menus that offer variety and nutritional balance, maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and organisation, manage stock control and food storage, and assist with ordering supplies. You will also support training for care staff involved in food service. Your focus on quality, presentation, and safe food practices will ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for all residents.

What We Are Looking For
You will have relevant culinary experience or qualifications, ideally City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards), and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You should be a team player with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of food presentation and portion control. Experience in a care setting is beneficial but not essential. A positive attitude and flexibility are key to thriving in this role.
