Libertatem Healthcare is seeking a Female Complex Care Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child during the school day in Ilkley. Due to the location and the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

About the Role

As a Complex Care Assistant, you'll play a key role in enabling a child with SEN to participate fully in school life. You’ll provide personal and medical care, emotional support, and assist with daily activities to ensure the child feels safe, included, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored, person-centred care and emotional support

  • Assist with physical and personal care throughout the school day

  • Escort the child to and from school (driving required due to location)

  • Monitor and manage medical needs under clinical guidance

  • Communicate effectively with school staff, family members, and the wider care team

Essential Clinical Experience

We welcome candidates with experience in, or a willingness to be trained in:

  • Tracheostomy care

  • Oral, tracheal, and nasopharyngeal suctioning

  • Enteral and PEG feeding

  • Oxygen therapy

What We’re Looking For

  • A caring, patient, and adaptable individual

  • Experience working with children or in a care setting (preferred)

  • Confidence working independently and within a multidisciplinary team

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • Willingness to undertake specialist training and continuous professional development

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive Training – Classroom and online sessions covering complex care procedures

  • Ongoing Support – Supervision and guidance from Nurse Managers, plus 24/7 Care Coordination Team access

  • Digital Tools – Easy access to your schedule, client notes, and updates through our Carer App

  • Career Progression – Opportunities to gain NVQs and develop professionally within care

  • Flexible Hours – Choose shift patterns that suit your lifestyle

  • Employee Wellbeing – Access to our Employee Assistance Programme

  • Inclusive Culture – We celebrate diversity and foster a respectful, supportive workplace
