Our client is looking for a passionate and dedicated Ward Manager to lead their medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Service team. As a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the care provided to patients in a secure and supportive environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals receiving forensic mental health care.
What we're looking for:
- Qualifications: Valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD).
- Leadership: Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a relevant mental health or forensic care setting.

What you'll be doing:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the medium and low secure forensic mental health ward, ensuring a safe, therapeutic, and person-centred environment for both patients and staff.
- Team Management & Support: Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in line with treatment plans, ensuring that each patient's individual needs are met.
- Clinical Governance: Ensure the implementation and adherence to clinical policies, procedures, and best practices across all areas of care.
- Patient Care & Evaluation: Actively engage in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring continuous improvement and person-centred care within the secure environment.
- Staff Development & Mentorship: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to nursing staff, fostering their professional growth and promoting continuous learning within the team.
- Collaboration & Care Coordination: Work closely with other healthcare professionals and departments to ensure seamless transitions for patients between care settings.
- Recruitment & Performance Management: Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance management of nursing staff, ensuring the team is fully supported and capable of delivering excellent care.
- Advocacy: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and external agencies, ensuring that the needs and rights of patients are effectively communicated and upheld.
