If you’re passionate about employee relations and excel in a dynamic environment, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

The Human Resources Advisor (HRA) plays a crucial role within the regional/local management team, focusing on best practices in recruitment, retention, and overall HR services. Reporting directly to the HR Business Partner, the HRA will be a primary point of contact for employee relations, handle complex cases, and provide essential support in various HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance, and absence management.
  • Oversee the administrative tasks associated with HR cases, maintain the employee relations tracker, and provide monthly updates to the HR Business Partner and Divisional Director.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, embedding company values throughout the region.
  • Coach and guide line managers on HR/ER issues, including complex matters such as TUPE transfers, in line with current legislation.
  • Support HR clinics, open-door sessions, and listening forums as required.
  • Review and update job descriptions and assist with recruitment campaigns.
  • Coordinate new starter inductions and onboarding with relevant Directors for managerial roles.
  • Provide administrative support for change processes and consultations.
  • Utilize HR information systems to access, input, and compile data as needed.
  • Manage SharePoint to ensure it is updated with current HR policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the HRBP to review and implement HR policies and assist in employer branding initiatives.
  • Oversee DBS/PVG checks for Home Managers and the regional Leadership team.
  • Conduct monthly NMC Pin checks for regional and Home Manager roles.
  • Create a quarterly staff newsletter in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Support the HRBP with the annual employee engagement survey and various policy rollouts.
  • Participate actively in the company’s annual conference, manage company awards, and collate relevant data for the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Support employee relations across other divisions when required.

Person Specification and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Strong experience with complex employee relations cases in a fast-paced, small-team environment (e.g., care or hospitality).
  • Multi-site experience.
  • Sound knowledge of employment law.
  • Ability to travel across England & Wales, primarily North and West of England.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting consultations and change programs.
  • Knowledge of the care sector and regulatory standards.
  • Policy writing experience.
