Cedar Lodge and The Limes Dementia Care Home is set on the peaceful outskirts of Taunton, overlooking a beautiful park. Thoughtfully designed to provide high-quality Dementia care, it offers a warm, supportive environment for up to 42 residents.

We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team. You will play a vital role in ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, well-balanced, and beautifully presented meals every day, helping to make mealtimes one of the highlights of the day.

What We Offer

• £12.21 per hour
• Contracted to 27 hours per week 
• Pension scheme, paid DBS, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

What You Will Do
You will prepare and serve a variety of high-quality meals, catering to individual dietary requirements and personal preferences. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will plan and deliver well-balanced menus that make the most of fresh, seasonal ingredients. You will oversee the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained.

You will also be responsible for stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate temperature and safety records. Above all, you will take pride in providing meals that bring comfort and joy to residents and contribute to their overall wellbeing.

What We’re Looking For
You should hold City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or an equivalent catering qualification (achieved or working towards), along with a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You will have sound knowledge of food safety and nutrition, and ideally some experience working within a care home or similar environment.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and works well under pressure. You’ll be a team player who enjoys creating delicious food and takes pride in maintaining the highest standards in every aspect of your work.
