This Is Not A ‘Steady State’ Home Manager Role.
This Is a Turnaround. A Reputation Rebuild. A Legacy Opportunity.

Cherrybrook Care Home in Bradford is at a defining moment.

A large, dual-site, 120-bed specialist service supporting adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, nursing needs and complex physical care and right now, it needs a leader.

Occupancy sits at 16%.
CQC is Requires Improvement. (Historically acquired)
Management turnover has impacted morale.

We opened in July 2024 with ambition. The reality has been tougher.

Now we’re looking for someone who doesn’t shy away from challenge, someone who sees this and thinks:

“Good. Let’s build.”

If you are a turnaround specialist.
If you know how to steady a team, win back trust and deliver compliance.
If you want to look back in two years and say, ‘That was my transformation’

Your Contract

  • Up to £95,000 per annum
  • 40% annual bonus
  • Private medical insurance
  • Pension
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave

The Opportunity: Two Years to Transform Cherrybrook Care Home

This is a full operational and commercial leadership role across both Cherrybrook sites (92-bed main home and 28-bed unit).

Over the next 24 months, your mission will be clear:

  • Achieve a strong CQC rating.
  • Stabilise and inspire a team who need consistent, confident leadership.
  • Build occupancy sustainably and responsibly.
  • Re-establish Cherrybrook as a respected specialist service in Bradford.

You will not be doing this alone. You’ll work alongside a Regional Director, CRM team and Quality support function. Although the culture, the standards, the energy? That starts with you.

This is about turning a service around the right way:

  • With governance.
  • With compassion.
  • With commercial discipline.
  • With pride.

The Leader We’re Searching For

We need more than experience. We need presence.

You are a visible, floor-walking leader.
You don’t manage from an office.
You set standards by how you show up every day.

You understand what management instability does to morale and you know how to rebuild it. You’re strong, but empathetic. Structured, but human. You hold people accountable, but you lift them as you do it.

You have -

  • Sound experience as a Home Manager, ideally in complex care, mental health or multi-site services.
  • Delivered measurable CQC improvements and strengthened governance frameworks.
  • Grown occupancy through relationship-building with commissioners and families.
  • Managed budgets confidently and commercially.

You may be RGN, RMN or RNLD qualified, preferred but not essential, and a Level 5 in Leadership would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you are motivated by meaningful impact, not just maintenance.

Let’s Be Honest

This role will test you.

There are systems to strengthen.
A culture to rebuild.
A reputation to restore.

But there is also something powerful here

  • A blank page.
  • A supportive wider group.
  • The chance to build something you can truly call your own.

If you want a comfortable, quiet role, this isn’t it.
If you want to lead something that matters, this could define your career.
