Stuart House Dementia Care Home is a warm and welcoming Victorian terrace home in the heart of the community. This small, friendly residence provides specialist Dementia care for up to 19 residents in a cosy, family-like environment.

We’re looking for a hands-on, multi-skilled individual who is seeking a unique and varied role within our ancillary team at Stuart Houe Dementia Residential Home. Carrying out both Housekeeping and Kitchen Assistant duties, you will be preparing and delivering high-quality meals, whilst maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. In addition to this, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment that supports the residents well-being. Your attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards will be crucial in this role.

What You’ll Do
• Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food, helping to get meals ready efficiently and to a high standard.
• Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain general cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area, including equipment and appliances, ensuring a hygienic environment.
• Delivery Handling: Receive, check, and safely store kitchen deliveries, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for and stored.
• Food Safety: Understand and implement safe food handling principles to ensure the highest standards of food safety are met.
• Safe Work Practices: Practice safe systems of work across a range of tasks to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
• Health & Safety: Understand and adhere to Health and Safety at Work legislation, always ensuring compliance and safety.
• Storage: Take responsibility for the safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment, in line with your area of work.
• Policy Adherence: Read, understand, and adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Provide thorough domestic cleaning services within the care home, adhering to company policies and best practices.
• Furniture and Fixtures: Clean and maintain furniture, furnishings, fixtures, and fittings to a high standard.
• Waste Management: Remove refuse regularly and dispose of it properly.
• Resident Support: Assist with the daily well-being of residents, helping them settle into their new environment.
• Laundry Services: Manage laundry effectively, ensuring it meets guidance and expectations. Safely handle and label personal belongings.
• Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with other staff members to ensure that laundry services and overall cleanliness are maintained effectively.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Food Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of food safety and handling principles.
• Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail for ensuring cleanliness, proper food storage, and accurate handling of deliveries.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive environment.

Desired Experience
• Previous Experience: Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is advantageous but not essential.
• Food Handling Knowledge: Familiarity with food handling and safety procedures is beneficial.
