Great care is delivered by great people. So our People Services team at Barchester Healthcare constantly strive to ensure we have the best employee experience in the sector. We're looking for an exceptional HR professional to join our team as Senior HR Business Partner.

Working closely with the Senior Management Team across our North Divisions, you'll help deliver our People Strategy, to enable Barchester's success through our people.

You'll be a great leader and coach, supporting your HRBP team in delivering a brilliant service to the Divisions. You will be highly experienced and credible, with demonstrable experience in leading a high performing team.

Reporting into the Head of People Services, you'll work hand in hand with other Senior HRBPs, ER Manager and HR Services in providing expertise, guidance and support to managers on all people matters. You'll be the escalation point for high risk people issues, identifying risks and finding solutions. You'll take the lead with key HR initiatives and work in collaboration with leadership teams across a number of improvement programmes.

Barchester is currently undergoing a significant transformation programme, with multiple projects happening across the business. And within that we are embracing change within People Services, with a significant programme of work in progress. So it's a really exciting time to join the team and support the business in moving through these changes successfully, all for the benefit of delivering a premium service to those we care for.

This is a remote role, however, regular travel will be required to services and occasional travel to our office in Inverness.

Required experience and qualifications:


  • Level 7 CIPD or working towards/equivalent demonstrable experience.

  • Experience of people management and project leadership

  • Current HR experience gained at a senior level in a large complex organisation with multiple stakeholders

  • Able to simplify complex problems, processes, and projects into meaningful commercial outcomes

  • Be self-assured, strategic, resolution focused, innovative, organised, collaborative and forward-thinking

  • Be an influential communicator able to act with substantial discretion and professionalism, responsible for own decisions

  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines

  • Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel where needed
