Ward Manager (RMN)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £55,000

Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Ward Nurse Manager (RMN) to join their team and lead their CAMHS ward, fostering a positive and therapeutic environment with the highest standards of nursing care. As Ward Manager, you will have responsibility for all aspects of ward management, including staffing, resources, clinical governance, and patient care. This key leadership role involves mentoring nursing staff, championing patient-centred practices, providing clinical supervision, managing performance, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Registered RMN: Must be registered with the NMC, ideally with experience in CAMHS inpatient services.
  • Leadership Training: Willing to engage in further clinical, managerial, and leadership development related to CAMHS.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role within CAMHS or a similar clinical environment.
  • Professional Development: Evidence of continuing professional development, including clinical audit and service improvement experience.
  • Skills: Strong computer skills, staff rostering knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Supervision: Manage staff rotas, training, and supervision to maintain optimal staffing levels and skill mix. Foster a culture of learning, development, and recognition within the nursing team.
  • Patient-Centred Care: Ensure personalized, evidence-based care plans for each patient, addressing both their mental and physical health needs. Engage family members and carers as appropriate.
  • Clinical Excellence: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, nutrition, and safety in the ward environment.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation, handovers, and patient reports. Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Incident & Compliance Management: Lead incident reporting and reviews, including staff debriefs. Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberties policies.
  • Medicines Management: Oversee safe medicines practices and coordinate with the unit pharmacist for audit follow-up. Ensure all Registered Nurses complete competency assessments.
