What you will be doing

As a qualified Mental Health Nurse (RMN), you will ensure women over the age of 18 who have complex emotional and mental health problems associated with significant risk behaviours receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork.

The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:    

  • Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
  • Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Providing mentorship and support to team members
  • Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided

Skills and knowledge you will have

  • A relevant nursing qualification
  • NMC registration
  • Strong team-working skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
  • A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
  • A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice

Where you will be working

Location: Springwood Lodge, Guiseley, LS20 9PQ

Situated in the small town of Guiseley on the outskirts of Leeds the service is surrounded by beautiful countryside with easy access to all local amenities.

Spring Wood Lodge supports women over the age of 18 who have complex emotional and mental health problems associated with significant risk behaviours. Typically they have a diagnosis of personality disorder or a severe mental illness. They may not have had their needs met in a general psychiatric service including acute inpatient units, community mental health teams or community personality disorder service. The service focuses on active rehabilitation with a view to achieving a sustainable discharge.

Spring Wood Lodge provides:

  • 9 bedded Inpatient rehabilitation (Bronte Ward)
  • 12 bedded high dependency inpatient rehabilitation (Byron Ward)
