Gilmerton Care Home is located in Edinburgh's Moredun area and provides nursing care for up to 60 residents.

As a Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP), you’ll take on a leadership role at the heart of our care team. This is more than supporting with daily routines — you will guide others, promote best practice, and ensure every resident receives care rooted in dignity, respect, and individual needs.

What You Will Do

• Lead and coordinate your shift, ensuring a consistent standard of high-quality care
• Support with medication administration, care plans, and clinical record keeping
• Provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to residents
• Mentor junior staff and support their development
• Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care & Medication Training
• Experience working in a care setting (minimum one year preferred)
• Confidence leading a shift and delegating tasks effectively
• A commitment to delivering person-centred care with compassion
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
